The Effect of Vegetation Density on Land Surface Temperature in Klojen District

Due to its increased population, the Klojen District has become center of government and economy in Malang City. Overpopulation caused an increase land conversion a decrease vegetation area, resulting Urban Heat Island effect or surface temperature (LST) urban areas. This study aimed determine normalized difference index (NDVI) on LST District. The data were processed by interpreting Landsat 8 satellite imagery using NDVI analyses 2018 2020, two variables tested for linear regression. regression test results showed that 2020 had negative correlation. indicated as density increased, decreased, vice-versa. According NDVI-LST coefficient determination value, correlation was higher than 2018, indicating became stronger every year with value between 0.67 0.81.
